“Reach out and touch!”

Bible reading relating to the preacher’s message

Our preacher’s message concerns the story in Mark’s gospel which tells of the woman in the crowd who, despite her long-term health issues, reaches out in utter desperation to Jesus… just to touch His robe.

God’s providence during (and His eternal plans following) the global Covid pandemic.

People in all communities will have lost family members and friends during this health crisis and many, too, will have been deeply affected both emotionally and mentally.

Equally, there will be a great number of people who have come through these tough times - some with continuing health issues and some relatively unscathed with little or no serious health effects.

Why bother to follow the way of Jesus?

Following his previous two sermons, “Why bother to pray?” and “Why bother to read the bible?”, our speaker concludes with another in his address below.

Understanding ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Atonement’

God is on a mission to remove evil from His good world, along with all of its corrosive effects. However, He wants to do it in a way that does not involve removing humans. This video traces and explains the theme of God’s “covering” over human evil through animal sacrifices, helping us to understand how they ultimately point to Jesus and his death and resurrection.
